Fire Technician – Full-Time

About the role

B&D; Building Solution P/L is seeking reliable Fire Technician to join our growing team on a full-time basis.

Based from our Strathfield South office, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, servicing and maintaining fire protection systems across a portfolio of commercial, industrial and residential properties throughout Sydney and surrounding areas.

This role is suited to an experienced technician who takes pride in their workmanship, can diagnose faults effectively and is committed to providing professional service to clients.

Key responsibilities

- Inspect, test, service and maintain fire protection systems in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, legislation and manufacturer requirements
- Carry out routine and preventative maintenance on fire detection, alarm, emergency warning and fire suppression systems
- Diagnose system faults and complete repairs or provide transparent recommendations for rectification
- Respond to emergency call-outs, system faults and urgent service requests when required
- Install and commission fire protection equipment and system components
- Complete accurate service reports, inspection records and other compliance documentation
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to clients, building managers and the B&D; office team
- Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally and in accordance with site requirements
- Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles in good working condition
- Keep up to date with relevant Australian Standards, legislation and developments within the fire protection industry

What we are looking for

- Previous experience as a Fire Technician or in a similar fire protection role
- Relevant NSW fire protection licences, accreditation or eligibility to obtain the required accreditation
- Knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems, emergency warning systems and fire suppression equipment




- A sound understanding of applicable Australian Standards and National Construction Code requirements
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and system documentation
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Good attention to detail and the ability to complete accurate service documentation
- Professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical fitness and willingness to work at heights or in confined spaces when required
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Reliable transport and the ability to attend job sites throughout Sydney
- Robust commitment to workplace health and safety

Experience with both wet and dry fire systems will be highly regarded.
