Location: Gunnedah, NSW

Contract Type: Full Time, 9 Day Fortnight - 38 hours/week.

Salary Range:

- Operators (Grade 2
- 5): $1103.16
- $1296.89/week + up to $8,000/year retention bonus, 12% super.

Skilled Operators (Grade 7): $1237.70

- $1366.19/week + retention bonus, 12% super.

About the Opportunity

Join Gunnedah Shire Council's Works team as an Operator or Skilled Operator, contributing to infrastructure projects and maintaining public facilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and maintain assigned plant safely and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with WHS policies and legislative requirements.
- Perform general road maintenance operations, including small plant, hand tools, traffic control duties, and basic engineering tasks.
- Occasionally supervise staff and conduct quality control, when assigned.
- Collaborate with department members to complete work programs within agreed timeframes and standards.
- Apply WHS and risk management systems as per council policies.
- Complete administrative tasks accurately.
- Maintain required qualifications and undertake training to meet skill levels.
- Participate in on-call duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements





- WHS Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
- Current Driver's Licence (HR/HC).
- Appropriate Cert 3 qualification or willingness to undertake professional development, or 5 years’ experience in a relevant field.
