The opportunity
We are seeking a Project Officer – Implementation to support the delivery of capital works projects across CSIRO's national property portfolio.
Working closely with Project Managers, contractors and internal stakeholders, you will contribute to all phases of project delivery, including planning, procurement, design, construction and closeout activities. You will play a key role in supporting governance, financial management, stakeholder engagement and reporting activities, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and fit for purpose.
This is an exciting opportunity for a project skilled looking to further develop their experience in capital works, infrastructure or construction project delivery within a complex and purpose-driven organisation.
Your high-level duties will include
Supporting the planning and delivery of capital works projects to achieve agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality outcomes.
Assisting with procurement, contract administration, risk management, financial management and project reporting activities.
Coordinating the delivery of minor and low-risk projects from inception through to completion.
Preparing project documentation, reports, presentations and governance papers for management and executive review.
Monitoring project performance, budgets, risks and progress against milestones.
Building productive relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and service providers.
Supporting change management activities and contributing to successful project outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
Maintaining project records, document management systems and meeting documentation.
As the successful candidate, you will bring
Relevant industry qualification in a related discipline such as Construction Management, Design or Project Management, or equivalent relevant experience in construction or project delivery.
Demonstrated experience in project management, particularly in the planning and successful delivery of project objectives in regards to time, cost, quality and safety.
Demonstrated experience in the effective use of project management tools, systems and strategies.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders and work to achieve outcomes within agreed timeframes.
Proven ability to think strategically and use sound judgement to make appropriate recommendations.
Demonstrated understanding of project management methodologies, contract management, health and safety legislation, and government procurement requirements.
Highly developed stakeholder management skills to build and maintain strong working relationships, and the capability to support change across user groups and the organisation.
Experience in the planning and delivery of capital works projects, especially in a scientific, university and/or public sector environment.
Knowledge of the compliance and regulatory requirements of scientific facilities.
Location: Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Darwin preferred, with other locations negotiable
Salary: AU$100k – AU$113k per annum (pro-rata for part-time) + 15.4% superannuation
Tenure: Specified term of 18 months, Full-time
