Mackay Base Hospital's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join their team on a contract basis from 27 July to 27 September 2026. This is a full-time role working rotating shifts across a busy Level 4 facility that treats over 150 patients daily, including both adult and paediatric presentations.

The position offers a salary of AUD$55.65 to AUD$70.82 per hour, with accommodation support available (up to $200 per week reimbursement with valid invoices). You'll work 80 hours per fortnight across 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 8 hours between shifts.

- Work in a high-acuity emergency setting with resuscitation, trauma, high dependency, and paediatric bays
- AUD$55.65 to AUD$70.82 per hour, plus accommodation reimbursement and shift flexibility
- Contract placement with structured rostering and clear shift boundaries





Preferred Requirements

- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and all shift lengths (8, 10, and 12 hours)
- Solid clinical assessment and prioritisation skills in a high-volume environment
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems, particularly ieMR
- Own vehicle preferred, as accommodation is located off-site from the facility

Preferred Qualifications

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
- Previous experience working in Queensland Health or Mackay Health and Hospital Service
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification or willingness to obtain it
