Registered Nurse – St Marys Community Health Centre
St Marys Community Health Centre is located in the Fingal Valley, Tasmania’s North‑East, about 90 minutes from Launceston and 10 minutes from the East Coast beaches. The centre offers emergency, sub‑acute and palliative care, and a range of community and outpatient services, including nursing, home help, adult day centre, physiotherapy, social work and child health.
Role Overview
The Registered Nurse delivers safe, person‑centred and holistic nursing care in a rural multipurpose setting. Working across emergency, inpatient acute, sub‑acute and palliative care, the RN provides comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care in accordance with the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice and THS policies.
Responsibilities
Key duties include:
- Delivering high‑quality clinical services and first‑line emergency care while supporting chronic disease management.
- Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and communicating effectively with patients, families and the community.
- Participating in quality and safety initiatives, incident reporting, infection prevention and professional development.
- Supporting and guiding ENs, support staff and students, upholding THS values and fostering a culturally respectful, inclusive environment.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated clinical competence across emergency and acute nursing, with the ability to independently assess, plan and deliver evidence‑based care in a rural multipurpose setting.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, including collaboration within multidisciplinary teams and engagement with patients,
families and the broader community.
- Sound critical thinking and emergency response capability, recognising and escalating clinical deterioration, prioritising care and managing unscheduled presentations in a small rural health environment.
Eligibility
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
Employment Details
Permanent, full‑time, shift worker (fully rotational) working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary
- Annual salary: $80,524 to $109,175, with a 12% superannuation contribution.
- Access to the Grade4 salary range ($102,439 – $109,175) subject to progression.
- Post‑graduate allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
