The Role

We’re looking for a skilled and committed Demi Chef to join The French Exit on a casual basis, working between 30‑38 hours per week.

Working closely with our Sous Chef and the wider kitchen team, you’ll play a key role in delivering refined French bistro dishes with consistency, precision and care. You’ll thrive in a quality‑driven kitchen, bring a collaborative approach to service,



and take pride in producing beautifully executed food while supporting the wider team through busy services.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum two years’ experience as a Demi Chef, or three years working as a Commis Chef within a quality‑driven kitchen
- Confidence preparing and plating dishes to a consistently high standard
- Strong technical skills and experience working within structured kitchen systems
- Excellent understanding of mise en place, section organisation and food safety standards
- The ability to perform under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- A team-oriented, positive attitude and genuine passion for working as part of a professional kitchen team
- A Commercial Cookery qualification
- Casual availability across a rotating roster, with shifts between 9:00 am and midnight, including evenings and weekends
