About the role

As a Rehabilitation Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering innovative assistive technology solutions that support individuals with complex disabilities and rehabilitation needs to achieve greater independence, participation and quality of life.

Working within a specialist multidisciplinary team, you will apply your engineering expertise to assess client needs and contribute to the design, modification, repair and prescription of assistive technology and customised equipment.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values: Provision of day-to-day service in the diverse clinical and technical tasks of the rehabilitation engineering service including an increasing role in assessments and design, modification and repair of assistive technologies.

Perform a diverse range of professional engineering tasks of increasing complexity to a consistently high standard.

Solve complex problems regarding assistive technology assessment and with an increasing level of independence and reducing level of clinical practice supervision.

Take responsibility for work at all levels within the given technical domain without regular clinical practice supervision.

Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and technical practice as part of the rehabilitation engineering team.
