Our Queensland Government client is seeking an experienced System Administrator - Unix to undertake the below activities:

- Administration of Oracle Solaris and RedHat Linux systems.
- Monitoring of servers and services for proactive support
- Administration of Oracle, WebLogic and Database platforms
- Administration of Middleware and Web Server environments
- Maintain currency of server infrastructure, operating systems, and relevant supported software
- Producing and maintaining quality systems documentation
- Communicate with clients giving advice on hosting solutions offered by Systems Hosting
- Provide timely and detailed oral/written advice as required on software, hardware and security matters

Mandatory Requirements

Technical Skills:

- Expert knowledge in RedHat satellite server administration, rolling out patches, kick-starting builds, patch baseline creation, yum repository, creating custom RPM packages, updated satellite component each release, monitoring and managing RHEL licence association within satellite allocation pool.
- Solaris 10, 11 and RedHat Linux System Administration 6,7,8,9
- Solaris (SVP) environment and RedHat Linux virtualisation (VMware) (Logical Domains and Containers)
- Oracle SPARC server fleet
- Unix Shell scripts, PERL, PHP and other relevant scripting languages
- Oracle Database platform administration (v11, v12 V18, and V19 )
- PostgreSQL data base platform administration
- Cloud Linux IaaS and PaaS
- Demonstrated experience with the Installation and management tool sets for both Linux and Solaris environments.
- Demonstrated experience in installation and administration of Puppet enterprise for Solaris and Linux, Centos 8, RH 8 & 9. Providing High availability, managing puppet configuration, integration and scripting across these environments,



including Orchestrating Puppet, tasks and Plans.
- Demonstrated experience with Postgres SQL and Oracle Database System Administration
- Apache Tomcat Administration (v 10.1.1)
- Oracle WebLogic Administration (v14.1)
- Oracle Tuxedo Administration (v12.2.2.0)
- Demonstrated Knowledge of Nagios (v 4.4.8) Administration
- AWS and Azure Architecture and System Operations ability to build servers and associated tool sets.
- Good working knowledge of VMware
- Valuable working knowledge of storage, NAS, SAN, Backup, Network, and Security infrastructure

Non-Technical Skills:

- Proven ability to work both autonomously and within a small team.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, management, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organisation including senior management.
- Work with appraisal teams to provide solutions based on customer requirements
- Provision of estimates including time frames and resourcing for the delivery of approved solution to clients
- Exceptional documentation skills

Highly Desirable Qualifications/Certifications/Skills:

- RedHat Certified Engineer or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Oracle Certified Professional or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience.
