Senior Social Worker (Full-Time)

Location: Strathfield South, NSW
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm
Pay: $48.12-$62.81 per hour + super

A purpose-driven community organisation is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join a frontline program supporting people experiencing significant disadvantage. This is a hands-on, community-based role combining direct client support with coordination and supervision of student placements and volunteers.

About the role

You will deliver trauma-informed social work support, helping clients access practical resources and longer-term pathways to stability and wellbeing. You will also coordinate and supervise social work students and volunteers to ensure safe, meaningful placement experiences aligned with professional standards.

Key responsibilities

- Provide assessment, intervention and case coordination for clients with complex needs
- Support clients to access emergency accommodation, financial assistance and relevant health/legal/community services
- Coordinate,



supervise and support social work students and volunteers (planning, learning support, feedback and safe practice)
- Maintain safeguarding, confidentiality, accurate documentation and ethical practice
- Collaborate with internal staff and external service providers/partner organisations
- Contribute to program reporting, evaluation and service improvement activities

About you

- Masters qualification in Social Work
- Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience in community-based social work
- Demonstrated experience supporting people experiencing homelessness and/or significant disadvantage (e.g., disability, AOD, chronic illness, domestic/family violence)
- Strong trauma-informed practice, communication skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience supervising/mentoring students or supporting volunteers is highly regarded
- A robust commitment to social justice and improving outcomes for vulnerable communities
