Role DescriptionThe Partnership Manager, Growth is a part-time hybrid role based in Byron Bay, NSW, with flexibility for remote work. The role is responsible for driving participant and client growth across Apter’s professional development programs through partnerships, relationships,
and targeted growth activity. This includes identifying priority markets, researching organisations and decision-makers, developing partnership and outreach plans, nurturing relationships and leads, supporting campaign execution, and helping move prospective participants and clients from awareness to registration or engagement.Day-to-day work will include market research, CRM updates, partnership development, direct outreach support, campaign coordination, growth experiments, reporting, and performance tracking across digital and relationship-led channels. The Partnership Manager, Growth will work closely with Apter’s program leads to refine messaging, improve audience segmentation, develop institutional and channel relationships, coordinate launch activity, and ensure a consistent, professional experience for prospective and current participants and partners.A key part of the role is working effectively with AI agents. This includes using AI tools to accelerate research, draft outreach, analyse lead and partner lists, prepare campaign and partnership options, summarise feedback, maintain pipeline visibility, and test new growth workflows, helping to build an AI-assisted partnership and growth system where human judgment and relationship quality remain central,
but repetitive and research-heavy work is strongly augmented by AI. The role suits someone who is analytical, commercially minded, organised, and comfortable working in a small, fast-moving capability company where systems are still being built.
QualificationsStrong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, segment audiences, and evaluate growth experiments.Excellent communication skills, with transparent, inclusive written and verbal communication suited to professional and academic audiences.Partnership development, growth, and sales capabilities, including experience developing institutional relationships, designing and testing acquisition strategies, nurturing leads, and closing opportunities.Project management skills to plan, coordinate, and deliver partnership and growth initiatives on time and within scope.Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Byron Bay, NSW, with the ability to collaborate both in-person and remotely.Experience in professional education, consulting, partnerships, business development, or knowledge-focused organizations is beneficial.Familiarity with CRM tools, basic marketing analytics platforms, and productivity software.Relevant tertiary qualification in business, marketing, partnerships, analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience or strong familiarity with one or more of Apter’s core subject areas, including climate risk, coastal resilience, environmental management, emergency management, energy transitions, artificial intelligence, applied research, government practice, or professional education.
