As a Yard Hand, you will play a crucial role in supporting various operations within GADTECH's concrete batch plant and/or mechanical workshop, contributing to the efficient flow of materials, equipment, and vehicles.

Yard Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organisation to the standard expected. Conduct routine inspections to identify and report any maintenance or repair needs.

Vehicle and Equipment Management: Assist with the movement and organisation of vehicles, equipment, or machinery.

Material Handling: Assist in loading and unloading materials, products, or equipment as needed. Safely operate manual or motorised equipment.

Inventory Control: Assist in inventory management by conducting periodic stock counts and reconciling inventory records.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Identify and report any potential hazards or safety concerns.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of yard activities, such as vehicle movement logs, equipment usage records, or inventory documentation.

Communication: Maintain effective communication with team members, drivers, and supervisors to coordinate workflow, prioritise tasks, and ensure effective and efficient operations. Report any issues or concerns promptly.

Customer Service: Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

To be eligible, you must have:

Experience:



Previous experience in a similar yard hand or general labourer role is preferred. Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or construction environment is advantageous, especially experience operating loaders, heavy equipment and machinery.

Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods. Valuable overall physical fitness and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Safety Consciousness: Strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to yard operations. Awareness of potential hazards and ability to follow safety protocols.

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate recording of information, proper placement of materials, and compliance with operational procedures.

Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, drivers, and other stakeholders. Ability to follow instructions accurately and relay information.

Organisation Skills: Strong organisational skills to maintain an orderly yard or facility, effectively track inventory, and locate equipment or materials as needed.

Adaptability: Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Driver's License: Possession of a valid driver's license, Forklift licence.
