Primary objective
Lead and coordinate the strategic and operational delivery of corporate services, including facilities and property
management, fleet management, building security, travel advice and compliance audits, and corporate invoice processing, to
ensure effective, compliant and client-focused outcomes across the agency.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide effective leadership and resource management of the Office Services unit, contributing to the achievement of
business outcomes for the Corporate Services division.
2. Deliver a high standard of timely, client-focused services to manage the department’s fleet, IT assets, building security,
property and facilities management,
travel advice and compliance activities, and oversee related services under a holistic
service delivery model.
3. Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
4. Provide expert advice on the whole of government travel policy framework, maintain agency travel compliance through
regular reviews, and deliver TRIPS training.
5. Undertake research and analysis and provide clear, concise advice both verbally and in writing.
6. Manage competing priorities in a busy environment, maintaining confidentiality, exercising discretion, and engaging
effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Well-developed knowledge of facilities management, including the assessment and processing of maintenance requests
and broader office services functions.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of business management systems and processes, including human resource administration,
finance, information and records management, procurement, and reporting tools.
3. Working knowledge of NTG financial management frameworks, including reporting, delegations, and accountabilities.
4. Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and liaison skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
and influence outcomes.
5. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve outcomes.
6. Sound understanding of client and stakeholder needs, including cultural, economic and political sensitivities.
7. Demonstrated ability to manage effectively in a busy work environment with competing and conflicting demands.
Desirable
1. Current NT Drivers licence.
2. Working knowledge of the legislation, bylaws and policy that govern travel related conditions of entitlements with the
NT Government.
