Established in 2014, the restaurant is known for carefully selected cuts of meat, chargrilled dishes, a South Australian wine list and a kitchen influenced by extensive international culinary experience.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Plan and organise food preparation and cooking for restaurant service.
- Prepare and cook chargrilled meats, accompaniments and menu dishes to standard.
- Monitor dish quality at all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Menu planning, seasonal specials and food cost estimation.
- Order food supplies and monitor ingredient quality, availability and freshness.
- Coordinate preparation tasks with kitchen staff before and during service.
- Discuss food preparation issues with managers, kitchen staff and waiting staff.
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise staff on correct preparation procedures.
- Maintain consistency in portioning, plating, flavour and presentation standards.
- Ensure kitchen operations comply with hygiene, food safety and cleanliness requirements.
- Assist with stock rotation, storage procedures and preservation of suitable food items.
- Support training and supervision of junior kitchen staff where required.
- Maintain efficient workflow during busy lunch, dinner and event service periods.
- Contribute to a professional kitchen culture focused on quality and consistency.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
- At least a Diploma of Hospitality Management or a closely related qualification is required.
- Minimum 1
- 3 Years of relevant chef experience in a restaurant, dining or catering establishment is required.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and cook high-quality dishes in a busy commercial kitchen environment.
- Experience with menu planning, food cost control, ordering supplies and managing kitchen stock levels.
- Strong knowledge of meat preparation, chargrilling techniques, portion control and presentation standards is preferred.
- Ability to monitor food quality and maintain consistency across preparation, cooking and plating stages.
- Sound understanding of hygiene regulations, food safety procedures and secure commercial kitchen work practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with managers, kitchen staff and waiting staff during busy service periods.
