Taronga Zoo Sydney is looking for an experienced and motivated Works & Projects Manager to join our Assets team!
In this role, you'll keep Taronga running at its best by leading the teams, contractors, and services that bring our facilities and infrastructure to life.
About The Role
Provide strategic and operational leadership across trades, labour, contractors, and minor works to ensure facilities and infrastructure at Taronga are maintained to a high standard. Manage and develop an in-house workforce alongside contractors, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of works and logistics services across the Taronga.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the delivery of facilities maintenance, minor works and logistics services to ensure safe, reliable and fit-for-purpose infrastructure across the Zoo.
- Monitor asset performance and condition to drive planned maintenance and optimise asset availability and lifecycle value.
- Develop and implement efficient work planning, scheduling and resource allocation processes across internal teams and contractors.
- Lead and manage contractors and service providers to ensure compliance, performance and value for money.
- Ensure effective procurement and financial management of maintenance and minor works activities in line with organisational and government requirements. 1 Role description | Manager, Works & Projects
- Provide leadership and direction to multidisciplinary teams to achieve high performance, safety outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Drive WHS, compliance and sustainability outcomes across all operations, ensuring adherence to statutory and organisational requirements.
About You
We are looking for candidates that have:
Key Knowledge And Experience
- Proven experience delivering facilities maintenance or infrastructure programs
- Strong experience in contractor management and procurement
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex operational environment
Essential Requirements
- Trade or equivalent qualification with demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams
- Current NSW Driver Licence
- Working with Children Check
