We don't just manage buildings, we build communities. At Greystar, our onsite teams shape exceptional living experiences from day one. If you love hands-on facilities work with real ownership and variety, this is your next move.
About the site:
Haiku The Yarra and Haiku The Claremont are two of Greystar's flagship Build-to-Rent communities in South Yarra - quality, resident-focused assets sitting side by side. One base, zero travel between sites.
About the role:
This is a hands on, full time permanent role where you will take full ownership of maintenance, compliance, and presentation, while building and leading your own team along the way.
Enjoy stable Monday–Friday hours with no weekend work. On-call is part of the role, but call-outs are minimal and most issues are handled during business hours.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and grow a maintenance team across both sites
- Own reactive, planned, and statutory maintenance end-to-end
- Manage work orders end-to-end; diagnosing, repairing, and closing out defects on time and on budget
- Deliver preventative maintenance and statutory testing (fire alarms, HVAC, emergency lighting)
- Oversee the make-ready process for vacant apartments – inspections, contractor scheduling, quality checks
- Manage Cap Ex projects and budgets with real autonomy
- Champion WHS and safety standards across two premium communities
About you:
You've led facilities or maintenance operations in residential, student accommodation, or hospitality settings, and you're just as comfortable with compliance paperwork as you are getting hands-on.
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Proven facilities/maintenance leadership experience
- Strong WHS, statutory compliance, and Cap Ex/budget management skills
- Trade qualifications (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) highly regarded but not essential
- Robust communication and customer service skills with genuine care for the resident experience
- A valid driver's licence and ability to obtain a National Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check
