The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Unix System Administrator to join a large enterprise technology environment supporting critical applications and hosting infrastructure. This hands-on contract will see you working across Oracle Solaris, Red Hat Linux, middleware, databases and cloud platforms to ensure highly available, secure and reliable systems. You'll join a specialist infrastructure team where you'll play a key role in maintaining complex enterprise environments, automating administration tasks and supporting ongoing platform improvements.

The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Administering Oracle Solaris and Red Hat Linux enterprise environments.
- Managing Oracle WebLogic, Tomcat, Oracle Database and PostgreSQL platforms.
- Performing server monitoring, patching, upgrades and proactive infrastructure support.
- Managing Puppet Enterprise, Red Hat Satellite and automation across Linux environments.
- Producing high-quality technical documentation and providing technical advice to stakeholders.
- Supporting cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure while maintaining secure hosting environments.

About You
To be successful,



you will demonstrate:

- Extensive commercial experience administering Oracle Solaris and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Strong expertise with Red Hat Satellite, Puppet Enterprise and enterprise automation.
- Experience supporting Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, WebLogic and middleware platforms.
- Knowledge of VMware virtualisation, enterprise storage, networking and security infrastructure.
- Strong scripting skills using Shell, Perl or similar automation technologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and within a collaborative technical team.
