About the role

Tradelink Launceston is seeking a Showroom Consultant to join our team at our Launceston showroom. This is a full-time position based on-site at our location in Launceston TAS 7250. As a Showroom Consultant, you will be the face of our business, providing exceptional customer service and product expertise to both trade and retail customers. This role is central to creating a welcoming environment and driving sales through professional consultation and support.

Key responsibilities

- Greet and welcome all customers to the showroom, providing a friendly and professional first impression

- Assist customers in selecting appropriate products and solutions, utilising product knowledge and understanding customer needs

- Provide expert advice on product specifications, features, benefits and pricing to support purchasing decisions

- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash and card payments

- Maintain a clean, organised and well-presented showroom environment, including stock rotation and merchandise displays

- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally, escalating concerns where necessary

- Build and maintain positive relationships with regular customers to encourage repeat business

- Contribute to achieving sales targets and performance goals as part of the wider team

- Support the team with administrative tasks, stock management and inventory tracking

What we're looking for

- Previous experience in a retail or showroom environment, with a proven track record of customer service excellence

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse customer groups

- Product knowledge or the ability to quickly learn about building and trade products

- Numeracy skills and proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications





- Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer interactions simultaneously

- A positive, skilled attitude and genuine enthusiasm for helping customers

- Reliability and punctuality, with the flexibility to work the hours required for the role

- Willingness to work as part of a team and support colleagues to achieve collective goals

- Preferred: Experience in building supplies, hardware, or trade retail sectors
