Job description:

The Senior Project Officer, Institutional Arrangements will be responsible for advising on the institutional arrangements - including roles and responsibilities - of entities within the Water Portfolio as well as its key stakeholders.

The Senior Project Officer will have a sound understanding of the water sector and the roles of the 18 water corporations, 9 Catchment Management Authorities, the Victorian Environmental Water Holder and the Birrarung Council. The Senior Project Officer will advise on the accountabilities of Water Portfolio entities and the intersecting roles of government departments and regulators with a view to finding efficiencies in the way the sector operates based on advice from subject matter experts.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

- Tertiary qualifications in public policy or a related field would be desirable.
- Demonstrated capability in data and policy analysis and presentation, and experience of project management.
- Proven ability to work across government and organisations to influence policies and programs.
- Demonstrated experience water sector economics.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 September 2028. The work location for this position is versatile within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
