We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll & Accounts Officer to join our Finance team. You will play a vital role in ensuring accurate payroll processing and efficient accounts payable operations that support our growing organisation.

About the Role

This is a hands-on position responsible for the end-to-end processing of payroll, as well as accounts payable and associated financial administration tasks. Working within a collaborative and supportive team, you'll be the first point of contact for payroll-related enquiries while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Awards and organisational policies.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing using Employment Hero Payroll, ensuring accurate and timely employee payments

- Maintain employee payroll records, including onboarding, employment changes, terminations, leave management and superannuation details

- Interpret and apply SCHADS Award provisions, including overtime, penalty rates, shift loadings, allowances, and leave entitlements

- Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation, ATO requirements, Single Touch Payroll (STP), superannuation obligations and organisational policies

- Perform payroll reconciliations, payroll reporting,



month-end processing and end-of-financial-year (EOFY) activities

- Process accounts payable transactions, including supplier invoices, credit notes, payment runs and supplier account maintenance

- Complete daily bank reconciliations, investigate and resolve payroll and financial discrepancies

- Support financial administration activities, including accruals, prepayments, journals, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting

- Prepare audit documentation and maintain accurate finance records

- Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll and finance processes

About You

You'll be a great fit if you bring:

- Previous experience in end‑to‑end payroll processing experience

- Experience using Employment Hero Payroll or similar cloud-based payroll systems

- Knowledge of NES, Modern Awards, STP Phase 2, payroll tax, superannuation and PAYG

- Experience with AP, AR, reconciliations and general accounting tasks

- Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality

- Excellent communication and stakeholder service skills

- Ability to work well within a small and tight knit team

- Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn recent skills
