About the Role
As a Mechanical Trade Assistant, you will work alongside qualified tradespeople assisting with the fabrication, assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and components.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting boilermakers, fitters, and other tradespeople with workshop and site tasks.
- Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for fabrication and mechanical work.
- Operating hand and power tools safely.
- Grinding, cleaning, and finishing fabricated components.
- Loading, unloading, and moving materials using appropriate equipment.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop.
- Following safety procedures and company policies at all times.
- Assisting with installations and maintenance work on customer sites as required.
About You
- Previous experience as a Trade Assistant in a mechanical, engineering, fabrication, or manufacturing setting.
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- White Card (or willingness to obtain).
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
