Statewide Government Department require a driven Project Manager to join their busy Property Group. Located in the Inner West, this group is responsible for nearly 1,000 assets including institutional, commercial and residential properties.
You will report to the Director, Property to act as the client's representative for assigned current build construction, refurbishment and commercial fit-out projects. You will be involved in the preparation of project briefs, design, tender and contract documentation through to project finalisation and handover.
Your duties will include:
- Procure and manage the services of contractors and professional consultants for compliance with the conditions of the contract, recording and reporting on compliance.
- Check all items of contract work as executed and report any defects or non-compliance with the contract documents and report on non-conformance.
- Measure quantities of work and, where necessary, authorise the rates charged by the Contractor.
- Investigate and prepare reports on any potential or actual public liability claims.
- Management of concurrent projects and their delivery.
You will have:
- Relevant trade/professional construction qualifications and extensive experience in hands-on project delivery.
- Working knowledge of the Building Code of Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in project management principles and use of project management tools.
- Demonstrated budgetary and financial management experience.
- Running large and complex construction projects concurrently.
- Demonstrated experience with Excel spreadsheets, MS Word etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This is a client-side construction role with 5-day week/office hours and would suit an experienced Project Manager from the Client Side with Major Project and NSW Government exposure.
The role is for a contract period, initially 12 months, but very likely extended, and paid on an agency basis at a rate of circa $800/day plus super. This is a great opening for an experienced construction Project Manager and is only open to candidates with full working rights in Australia.
