About the opportunity

ASC is entering an exciting period of growth, transformation and workforce expansion, and we are seeking an experienced People & Culture Advisor to join our team.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in supporting Australia's sovereign defence capability by partnering with leaders to drive positive people outcomes across the business. As a trusted advisor, you will provide practical and people focused people solutions, contributing to workforce capability, employee engagement and organisational performance.

Working closely with leaders and colleagues across the People & Culture function, you will support the delivery of key people initiatives, provide guidance on people related matters, and help foster a high-performing and inclusive culture.



This role offers the prospect to make a meaningful impact while working in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Responsibilities

- Support leaders to provide proactive and practical advice across the employee lifecycle.
- Act as a trusted advisor, supporting leaders to build workforce capability, foster engagement and enhance team performance.
- Provide guidance and coaching on employee matters, including performance management, conduct, grievances and workplace investigations.
- Support organisational growth and change initiatives, ensuring the effective implementation of people strategies and programs.
- Collaborate with the broader People & Culture team to deliver consistent, high-quality people services and solutions.
- Champion a positive, inclusive and values-driven culture that promotes safety, wellbeing and high performance.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, enterprise agreements, organisational policies and best practice people management principles.
- Support the delivery of People & Culture projects, initiatives and operational activities as required to meet evolving business needs.

About you

- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience (desirable)




- Solid generalist People & Culture experience with a good working knowledge of HR practices and processes
- Understanding of key industrial relations frameworks (e.g. national employment standards, fair work act, enterprise agreements)
- High level of communication skills both verbal and written coupled with strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence.
- Demonstrable experience with supporting leaders around employee performance matters, employee relations issues, and grievance processes.
- A responsive people focused approach with a genuine commitment to providing timely P&C; support.
