Technical Business Analyst – Reporting & Data Migration

A major transformation program is underway to modernise workforce and payroll capabilities.
This is a large HR transformation program, impacting thousands of employees across a complex, multi-agency environment.

As the program progresses into its next major delivery phase, we are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst with strong expertise in Reporting and Data Migration to support the successful delivery of critical HR transformation initiatives.

Working within a large multi-vendor setting alongside senior program leadership and delivery partners, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality data migration, reporting capability, and technical business requirements are delivered to support the new HR ecosystem.

- Hobart based, or ability to travel every second week.
- Contract role on a major long term (12 months +)

Key Responsibilities

- Elicit, analyse and document reporting and data migration requirements from business stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, data models and reporting logic.
- Define data mappings, transformation rules, validation criteria and reconciliation processes for migration activities.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure accurate, secure and high-quality data movement across HR systems.




- Develop reporting specifications that support operational, strategic and statutory reporting requirements.
- Analyse complex business rules and convert them into detailed technical requirements and data logic.
- Collaborate with solution architects, data specialists and business stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
- Support testing, data validation and reporting verification throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Key Skills & Experience

- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst on large transformation or ERP programs.
- Strong experience delivering Reporting and/or Data Migration workstreams.
- Demonstrated ability to gather, document and validate complex business and reporting requirements.
- Experience working with HR data structures, including positions, organisational hierarchies, workforce data, payroll inputs and scheduling information.
- Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation rules, reconciliation and data quality principles.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors or other enterprise HR platforms will be highly regarded.
