Payroll Supervisor - ANZ | Sydney
Take ownership of payroll delivery across Australia and New Zealand, with the scope to lead process improvement and mentor a Payroll Officer along the way.

Reporting to the Head of Payroll, you'll manage end-to-end payroll processing across both countries, act as the technical escalation point for compliance and reconciliation issues, and provide coaching and quality assurance support to our Payroll Officer.
What you'll do
- Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls across Australia and New Zealand, including new starters, changes, terminations, deductions, and reimbursements
- Prepare payroll journals, reconcile transactions, and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, taxation, superannuation, and payroll tax obligations
- Prepare statutory payments, reconciliations, and end-of-year reporting, and support internal and external audits
- Monitor legislative changes and recommend updates to payroll processes and controls
- Support Finance with payroll accounting activities, month-end reporting, and accruals
- Manage payroll enquiries and provide timely, accurate advice to employees and managers
- Supervise and provide quality assurance support to the Payroll Officer, and lead training on payroll systems including Dayforce and ConnX
What you'll bring
- Demonstrated end-to-end payroll experience across Australia, ideally in a multi-state setting, plus exposure to New Zealand or other multi-jurisdiction payroll
- Working knowledge of Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, and leave legislation
- Experience supporting statutory reporting, reconciliations, and audit requirements
- Confidence supervising or supporting less experienced team members
- Advanced Excel skills and a proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion
Nice to have
- Experience with Dayforce, ConnX, or MicrOpay
- Experience within a large, complex, or multi-brand organisation
