The Director, Clinical Operations is responsible for leading the operational delivery of Redenlab's global clinical trial portfolio.
The Director will lead the Clinical Operations function, providing oversight of project delivery, operational planning, resource allocation and customer relationships. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring that customer projects are delivered efficiently, to the highest quality standards, and in accordance with sponsor expectations and company objectives.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an exceptional organiser who enjoys building high-performing teams, improving operational processes and delivering outstanding outcomes for customers.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Operations Leadership
· Lead Redenlab's Clinical Operations function across an expanding portfolio of international clinical trials.
· Provide leadership, mentoring and support to Project Managers and Clinical Operations staff.
· Monitor operational performance and proactively identify and manage delivery risks.
· Lead project review meetings and ensure effective communication across teams.
· Develop and implement operational processes that improve efficiency, scalability and customer satisfaction.
Project Delivery & Portfolio Management
· Maintain oversight of all active customer studies and operational programs.
· Monitor study timelines, milestones, budgets, deliverables and resource allocation to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, within scope and to agreed quality standards.
· Coordinate operational priorities across multiple concurrent projects.
· Resolve operational issues and remove barriers to successful project delivery.
Customer & Sponsor Management
· Develop strong working relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology partners, CROs and academic collaborators.
· Act as a senior operational contact for customers throughout the lifecycle of clinical studies.
· Participate in sponsor meetings, investigator meetings and project governance discussions.
· Ensure customers receive responsive communication and exceptional service.
· Build trust through reliable project delivery and proactive problem solving.
Cross-functional Collaboration
· Work closely with Clinical Operations, Medical, Speech Science, AI & Engineering, Software Development, Quality Assurance, Marketing, Finance and Business Development to ensure projects progress efficiently and organisational priorities remain aligned.
Resource Planning & Team Development
· Coordinate operational resources across multiple international studies.
· Support recruitment, onboarding and development of Clinical Operations staff.
· Mentor Project Managers and operational team members.
· Foster a collaborative, accountable and high-performing team culture.
· Assist with workforce planning as Redenlab continues to grow.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
· Partner with the Quality team to ensure compliance with Redenlab's Quality Management System and Standard Operating Procedures.
· Support internal and external audits and customer due diligence activities.
· Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and implement practical solutions.
· Promote a culture of continuous improvement throughout the Clinical Operations team.
Operational Communication
· Communicate effectively across geographically distributed teams in Australia, Europe and North America.
· Ensure operational information is shared clearly, accurately and in a timely manner.
· Prepare operational reports and project updates for the CEO and leadership team.
· Facilitate effective communication between operational, scientific and technical teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
· Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Nursing, Business, Project Management or a related discipline.
· Minimum 5 years' experience in clinical trials, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, CRO, healthcare or digital health.
· Demonstrated experience leading clinical operations, project management or study delivery teams.
· Strong understanding of clinical trial operations and sponsor expectations.
· Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
· Exceptional organisational and planning skills with outstanding attention to detail.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with customers and multidisciplinary teams.
· Ability to work flexibly across Australian, European and North American time zones.
· A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach to leadership.
Desirable
· Experience within a CRO or clinical trial technology company.
· Familiarity with digital health technologies or software-enabled medical products.
· Knowledge of GCP, ISO quality systems and regulated healthcare environments.
· Experience managing globally distributed teams.
· Experience working with software development, AI or digital health platforms.

Employment Conditions
· Part-time appointment (3–5 days per week).
