About the role
We're looking for a QHES Manager to lead Quality, Health & Safety and Environment across the Sumner Park site on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering a period of parental leave. This is an immediate need - you can commence ASAP.

This is a systems and leadership role. The routine monitoring, testing and administration is executed by your team, production leaders and interns, while you set direction, coach the team, and keep the business compliant and audit-ready.

You'll be the site's SQF Practitioner and GFCO primary contact, and the trusted go-to for quality, food safety, WHS and environmental expertise across the business.

What you'll be doing

- Leading and continuously improving the HACCP-based quality and food safety management system, and championing a solid quality culture
- Acting as SQF Practitioner and GFCO primary contact — maintaining SQF, GFCO and Non-GMO certification and ensuring FSANZ and customer compliance




- Owning the WHS management system and environmental obligations (WHS Act 2011 Qld and Codes of Practice; waste, trade waste, stormwater and EPA/council requirements)
- Leading the internal audit program and hosting external audits (SQF, GFCO, SEDEX, customer), driving closure of findings
- Owning approved supplier / vendor assurance and raw material quality
- Coaching and developing the QHES team and university interns, and providing QHES expertise to new product development, projects and key business meetings

About you

- Degree in Food Technology, Food Science or a related discipline
- 5+ years' quality and food safety leadership experience in food manufacturing
- SQF Practitioner with current HACCP certification
- Strong knowledge of SQF requirements, HACCP principles and allergen management
- WHS qualification or demonstrated experience managing WHS systems (highly regarded), plus working knowledge of WHS legislation and environmental compliance for a manufacturing site
- Internal auditing and root-cause / problem-solving skills
- A clear communicator who can prioritise, delegate and empower a team
