Job Description

Client Support:

- Provide safe, caring, and culturally appropriate support tailored to each client’s strengths and needs.
- Assist with personal care, domestic tasks (including yard work), social support, and transport as per shift and support plans.
- Respond appropriately to challenging behaviours while maintaining client dignity.
- Respect and maintain client and staff confidentiality.

Operational Duties:

- Follow daily shift plans and support documents accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant workplace following OH&S; standards.
- Identify and manage risks and hazards during duties.

Organisational Commitment:

- Uphold GLDS values, policies, and service agreements with external providers.
- Promote effective communication within the team.
- Participate in performance appraisals and professional development.

Administrative Tasks:

- Maintain accurate records including client notes, communication books, and reports.
- Support data collection and reporting processes in line with organisational standards.

Team Involvement:

- Attend meetings, supervision, and training as directed.
- Perform shift duties as rostered.




- Assist with other tasks and special duties when required

Key Responsibilities

- Provide safe, respectful, person‑centred support.

- Assist with personal care and daily living tasks.

- Support meal prep, cleaning, and household routines.

- Follow individual care plans and behaviour support plans.

- Encourage social, recreational, and community participation.

- Document shifts, incidents, and client updates accurately.

- Communicate clearly with clients, families, and team members.

- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

- Identify and report risks, hazards, or concerns.

- Uphold organisational policies and compliance requirements.

- Participate in training and continuous skill development.

Skill & Experience

At least one year of experience in working with complex and high care clients. We prefer candiadtes with a qualification that is highly relevant to the role of a support worker (eg, Cert iii, Cert IV, Diploma in community services, etcc…)
