About the role
Latitude Recruitment is seeking a hands-on, safety-focused Green Mill Team Lead for a well-established timber operation in Wandilo. If you're an experienced leader in sawmilling or timber processing and ready to take the next step in your career, this could be the role for you. You'll manage and coordinate day-to-day green mill operations, leading a team of approximately 12 employees while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are consistently met across all aspects of production from log intake to kiln delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of green mill operations from log intake to kiln delivery
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of approximately 12 employees, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality standards are met
- Troubleshoot equipment, coordinate workflow, and ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved
- Step in to operate equipment as needed and manage workflow across all stations
- Collaborate with operations and compliance teams to align production with orders and dispatch schedules
- Take ownership of plant cleanliness, safety, and maintenance
- Communicate daily performance, escalate issues,



and support accurate operational reporting

About You

- Trade, technical, or significant hands-on experience in sawmilling, timber processing, or a similar production environment (Essential)
- Strong understanding of machinery, pneumatics, engineering, and safe work practices
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate a team
- First Aid qualification (Essential) — safety or management qualifications (Desirable)
- Practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Willingness to work outside normal hours as required
