Metrocon is a Western Australian construction company delivering high-quality multi-residential, education, aged care and commercial projects throughout the state.

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team and support the increasing volume of tender opportunities across our business. Working closely with our Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in the preparation, coordination and delivery of competitive tenders across a diverse range of projects, with a strong focus on apartment and multi-residential developments.

We place significant value on Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and Design & Construct (D&C;) delivery and are seeking a candidate who can contribute to the pre-construction process from concept through to contract award. This includes cost planning, value engineering, buildability reviews, procurement strategy and design development in collaboration with clients and consultants.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparation of accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for multi-residential, commercial and mixed-use projects.

- Review and interpretation of architectural, structural, civil and services documentation.

- Measurement and quantity take-offs.

- Preparation and issue of subcontractor and supplier pricing packages.

- Analysis and comparison of subcontractor quotations.

- Preparation of cost plans, feasibility estimates and project budgets.

- Participation in ECI and D&C; processes, including design reviews, buildability assessments and value engineering exercises.





- Identification of project risks, opportunities and cost-saving initiatives.

- Preparation of tender clarifications, qualifications and recommendations.

- Liaison with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers throughout the tender process.

- Maintenance of estimating databases, rates and cost benchmarks.

- Support project handovers to the delivery team following successful award.

About You

- Minimum 3 years' estimating experience within the commercial / multi-residential construction industry.

- Demonstrated experience pricing apartment and multi-residential projects is highly preferred.

- Experience working on Design & Construct (D&C;) projects and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) engagements is highly desirable.

- Solid understanding of construction methodologies, procurement strategies and market pricing.

- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings and specifications.

- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is preferred.
