To continue to deliver for our community, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager Community Wellbeing to join our leadership team.

Reporting to the Director Community Planning & Growth, The Manager Community Wellbeing provides strategic leadership to the Community Wellbeing department to ensure the effective delivery of Council Plan objectives and community priorities through Active Ageing & Inclusion, Health, Wellbeing & Youth, and Community Development programs and services.

Leading an experienced and passionate team this role offers the opportunity to:

- Leading and managing Council’s Active Ageing & Inclusion program including a range of programs, activities and services that aim to promote positive ageing, social connections, access and inclusion, and community transport.

- Leading and managing Council’s Health, Wellbeing & Youth program including funded health promotion programs, key partnerships with health and wellbeing service providers and supporting young people through services and activities across the shire and at the Golden Plains Youth Hub at Bannockburn.

- Leading and managing Council’s Community Development program including community grants, community planning, farmers’ markets and library services.

- Ensuring the organisation maintains a thorough understanding of the service architecture around health and wellbeing services available to Golden Plains residents and advising on strategic advocacy to minimise gaps in service provision.

- Playing a key role in the organisation’s efforts to increase the amount of social and affordable housing in the shire, particularly in terms of research, advocacy and partnership building with relevant agencies.

Our ideal candidate will have:

- A tertiary qualification in community wellbeing or a related specialist field.

- A high level of relevant knowledge, supervisory experience and a proven record of accomplishment as an effective leader within the Active Ageing & Inclusion, Health, Wellbeing & Youth,



and Community Development programs and services.

- A minimum of five years' senior management experience leading highly effective teams, preferably in a local government setting.

- Demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to motivate staff and build a strong culture of trust, communication and collaboration.

- Demonstrated integrated strategic planning and policy development skills with the ability to position the department to respond to broader policy challenges and opportunities.

- Demonstrated business management skills including financial management, project management, contract management, continuous improvement / innovation and change management.

- Exceptional communication skills with highly developed report writing and presentation ability.

- Strong relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate and influence
