Are you passionate about the Cowra region and love sharing it with others?
Visit Cowra is looking for an outgoing and creative team member to help showcase everything that makes our region special.
This is more than a Visitor Information Centre role, you'll be welcoming and helping visitors, promoting local businesses, representing Visit Cowra at events, creating content, and helping grow our destination's profile.
About the role
As part of the Visit Cowra team, you'll work across a diverse range of tourism activities on a casual basis, including:
- Providing exceptional visitor experiences at the Cowra Visitor Information Centre- connecting visitors with our history, local attractions, businesses, and other services.
- Assisting with retail sales, merchandising, stock control, event delivery and day-to-day Visitor Information Centre operations.
- Delivering local wine and produce tastings, learning and sharing the stories behind our region's makers.
- Hosting our Pop-Up Visitor Information Centre Stalls at regional events, shows, expos and festivals.
- Supporting the organisation and implementation of events, such as the Cowra Christmas Festival, Winter Wanderlust, and more.
- Capturing high-quality content that showcases the region and assisting with content creation and graphic design.
- Building robust relationships with businesses, event organisers and community groups.
About you
You must be positive, driven, genuinely love our region and enjoy connecting people with memorable experiences. You're adaptable, resourceful and willing to roll up your sleeves. Whether you're networking at an industry event, promoting Cowra at a trade show, setting up trestle tables for an activation, keeping our clean and presentation-ready, capturing content behind the camera or delivering exceptional visitor experiences at the Visitor Information Centre, you understand that every task plays a part in showcasing the very best of the region.
You'll ideally have:
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills; confidence speaking with visitors, businesses and industry partners.
- An interest and knowledge of our local history, local food, wine, produce and regional experiences.
- Experience capturing engaging content and basic graphic design skills.
- A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to learn and work both independently and as part of a team.
- A current driver's license and the flexibility to travel and work weekends, evenings and public holidays.
- An RSA and First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
