An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Grid Project Manager to play a key role in delivering some of the NEM's most significant renewable energy projects. Working predominantly across utility-scale wind and BESS developments, you will lead grid connection activities from early-stage development through to commissioning and compliance.
This role will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced project environment and has experience dealing with AEMO, NSP's and other key stakeholders across the NEM.
Responsibilities
- Managing the end-to-end grid connection process for renewable energy projects
- Acting as the technical interface with AEMO, NSPs and relevant market bodies
- Coordinating connection applications, R1/R2 submissions and GPS negotiations
- Supporting development, EPC and delivery teams through technical due diligence and connection risk assessment
- Driving compliance activities through commissioning, hold point testing and model validation
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering or similar
- Robust experience in grid connection / power systems within renewable energy, utilities or transmission
- Demonstrated experience dealing with NSPs and market operators in Australia
- Knowledge of GPS and connection processes
- Knowledge of power system modelling tools (PSS/E, PSCAD or PowerFactory) could be useful but not essential
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
