We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Sushi Chef to join our team.
About the Role
As a Sushi Chef at KIRISHIMA, you will work alongside our chefs in delivering a refined omakase experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare sushi and sashimi to a consistently high standard
Portion and prepare premium seafood with precision
Maintain exceptional food presentation and quality
Ensure a clean, organised, and efficient workstation
Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team throughout service
Assist with daily preparation and stock management
Requirements
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sushi Chef or in Japanese cuisine
Robust knife skills and fish preparation experience
Passion for Japanese cuisine and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Valid Australian working rights
Preferred
Experience in omakase or fine dining restaurants
Knowledge of premium seafood and seasonal ingredients
Understanding of Japanese culinary techniques and food safety standards
