Yassas the Greek Way offer a unique experience to traditional Greek food with a Melbourne twist and is a premium addition to the Melbourne Culinary culture. We currently have 4 locations and are about to open our 5th location in MITCHAM Vic.

We are seeking a passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen. As the Head Chef you will be leading the kitchen with all aspects of operations, people management, menus and fostering a positive culture that is guest focused.

Essential duties for the role include the following:
Have a strong passion for creating dynamic menus and outstanding food
Managing and motivating your team to perform at a high level
Robust financial acumen relevant to labour and COGs control
Have the ability to review operational performance and make improvements where necessary
Ensure all management targets are achieved in line with KPI's
Working in accordance with Food Safety and complying with legislative requirements pertaining to food preparation and handling




This is a hands on Head Chef role

In order to be successful for this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
Previous Head Chef experience for at least 3 years
A genuine passion for food with attention to detail with presentation
Knowledge and Experience of Greek and Mediterranean cuisines
Trade qualifications and previous experience in a similar role managing a solid team
A customer service focus, with the ability to surprise and delight our guests with innovative and stylish food through your teams delivery
An ability to think on your feet and multi-task
Leadership ability, with previous experience mentoring your team and apprentices in the kitchen
Excellent presentation and communication skills with fluent English

This role is offering a very solid remuneration package comprised of an excellent base salary and super. We are also seeking other experienced chefs/cooks to join or team, please apply with your expression of interest and resume.

Pay: $85,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
