Position Overview

The Barista is responsible for crafting exceptional coffee and beverage experiences while delivering friendly, professional, and efficient service. This role requires strong barista skills, attention to detail, and a passion for premium hospitality, ensuring every drink served reflects CU29’s commitment to quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation
Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages to CU29’s quality standards.
Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
Ensure consistent presentation, flavor, and quality for every drink.
Create latte art and specialty beverages as requested.

Customer Service
Greet guests warmly and provide personalized, skilled service.
Offer product recommendations and answer customer queries about the coffee menu.
Anticipate customer needs and ensure a welcoming café setting.

Operational Support
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station and surrounding areas.
Assist with food service, counter duties, and café operations when required.
Monitor and replenish stock levels, ensuring all supplies are fresh and well-presented.

Compliance & Safety
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health & safety requirements.




Adhere to CU29’s grooming, service, and operational standards.
Report any incidents, hazards, or equipment issues to the Café Manager promptly.

Key Skills & Attributes
Strong barista skills with knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced workplace.

Qualifications & Experience
A minimum of 2 years experience as a barista in a café or hospitality venue, preferably in a premium or fine dining environment and in a high volume/marked–up venue.
Proficiency in espresso extraction, milk texturing, and latte art.
Knowledge of coffee origins, blends, and brewing methods (advantageous).
Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and peak service periods.
