Casual Position - Available to start on 13th July to 13th August (approx.)
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Workshop Assistant to join our team on a casual basis for approximately 1 month with the potential for ongoing periodic work for the right candidate. This role is based in a workshop environment and involves assisting with the refurbishment, repair, and restoration of mechanical equipment.
Position Details
Casual prospect (38 hours per week)
Available to start on 13th July
Above award rate (Building & Construction Award) $40 per hour + super (includes Fares & Travel allowances)
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assisting the Workshop Manager with the refurbishment, repair, and restoration of mechanical equipment
Surface preparation and painting of mechanical equipment
Transporting materials, tools, and equipment between worksites
Running errands and deliveries as required
Loading, unloading, handling, and storing materials safely and efficiently
General labouring duties including digging, shoveling, and moving materials
Assisting with building and renovation projects when required
Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order
Working collaboratively with team members to meet project milestones and deadlines
Following supervisor instructions and completing tasks to a high standard within required timeframes
Skills & Requirements
Must have Current Queensland Driver licence
Must have High Risk Work (HRW Forklift) licence with min 12 month forklift operation experience
Spray painting experience highly regarded
Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
Comfortable working in an industrial workshop workplace
Robust work ethic with a willingness to undertake hands-on labour
Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods
Candidates must be fit for work and able to maintain safety standards throughout the shift.
