Why volunteer?
Working in Aged Care can be an extremely rewarding and valuable experience. While many residents might otherwise miss out on contact from people within the local community, volunteers provide this key link and offer both companionship and casual, friendly communication. Volunteers get to share in first‑hand personal stories and experiences from our resident’s past while adding a current brightness to their present.
Who should volunteer?
Anyone. You don’t need experience or any special skill,
simply a willingness to join in activities and an interest in having a chat.
What Would I Be Doing?
The most fundamental role of a volunteer is to provide companionship, so a priority is placed upon listening and talking to our residents. As well as this, there is host of other activities you could be involved in such as arts, gardening, joining the residents for a bus outing, reading, games etc.
A Police Check (within 12 months) is mandatory for this position.
Following the conclusion of the legislative requirements, you will be introduced to our Lifestyle team for induction.
