At Southport Sharks, great experiences start long before our guests and members walk through the door. Behind every restaurant, café, bar, hotel room and event is a well-organised purchasing and stores operation ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time.
We're looking for a highly organised Purchasing Officer who loves systems, thrives on process and enjoys building strong relationships across the business. This is more than ordering stock. It's about improving the way we work, supporting our operational teams and ensuring our inventory is accurate, efficient and cost effective.
This is a full time Monday to Friday role based at Southport Sharks.
What you'll be doing
Manage purchasing and ordering across multiple departments
Receive deliveries and ensure goods are accurately receipted and stored
Maintain inventory accuracy and oversee stock control processes
Coordinate and complete regular stocktakes and investigate variances
Work closely with our Executive Chef, Kitchen team and operational leaders to ensure stock levels meet business needs
Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Identify prospects to improve purchasing processes, reporting and efficiencies
Ensure purchasing complies with company policies and food safety requirements
About you
You’ll be someone who enjoys creating order from complexity and takes pride in getting the details right. You're proactive, solutions focused and enjoy working with a wide range of people.
You’ll also bring:
Previous experience in purchasing, inventory or stores management
Experience using Cooking the Books or a similar purchasing system
Robust organisational skills and attention to detail
Confidence using inventory systems and Microsoft Excel
A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to streamline processes
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across departments
Hospitality, club, hotel or food and beverage experience will be highly regarded
