Position Overview

This opportunity exists for a person with a passion and commitment to regulatory services and compliance. The Council seeks individuals who enjoy working around animals and have a genuine interest in making a difference in our community. The successful applicant will complete the two‑person Regulatory Officer team to enable responsive services and maintain a positive work‑life balance in a agile setting.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct field activities at Coonamble Saleyards, Common and Aerodrome including animal rehousing and control.
Perform water sampling, develop community safety plans, issue orders and notices.
Carry out field inspections, manage stray animals, overgrown premises and derelict vehicles.
Balance on‑field duties with administrative functions; perform overtime and weekend work when on the on‑call roster.

Qualifications & Requirements
Demonstrated experience in animal control and enforcement of relevant legislation and regulations.
Ability to provide information and guidance on regulatory matters to the public.
Preferred qualifications in regulatory services,



or extensive practical experience.
Current Driver’s Licence and WHS White Card.
Capability to pass background and criminal checks.
Willingness to work on‑call hours as required.

Benefits
Salary range $73,546 – $85,138 plus superannuation.
Nine‑day fortnight working pattern.
Permanent full‑time role.

Membership of the Australian Institute of Local Government Rangers and attendance at their annual conference.
