Mechanical Fitter - Villawood

Mechanical Fitter at CSR in Villawood. Shift options: 6:00am–2:00pm or 2:00pm–10:00pm.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working as part of the maintenance team, you will:
Understand the full manufacturing process and product quality requirements to identify critical equipment and processes.
Troubleshoot plant and equipment issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Apply fine tolerances when fitting bearings, gears, seals, punches, and extrusion die assemblies.
Complete all work to required specifications, ensuring documentation is accurate and on time.
Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings with confidence.
Inspect, analyse, and record critical mechanical data during preventative maintenance, including wear, damage, and comparisons to standard drawings.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work setting, inspecting equipment prior to use.
Manage maintenance tasks by correctly storing spare parts and creating work orders for urgent repairs.

Qualifications
Mechanical trade licence or similar (Fitter/turner, Boilermaker, Plant mechanic, HV Diesel Mechanic)



with experience as a Fitter in a manufacturing environment.
Previous exposure within industrial manufacturing with routine & breakdown experience.
Confined space, WAH, EWP, Forklift licence and D&R; licence is highly desirable.
Strong commitment to safety, consistently applying WHSE practices.
SAP maintenance system proficiency would be advantageous; training will be provided.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
A hands‑on attitude, solid problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
