Hays is partnering with a respected Federal Government organisation to recruit an experienced Finance Officer for a temporary full-time, 2-month contract based in Townsville.

Your new role

As the Finance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the organisation's financial operations, with a robust focus on accounts payable, procurement administration, corporate credit card management and stakeholder support. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with legislative and policy requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable invoices accurately and within required timeframes
Maintain vendor records and reconcile supplier accounts
Administer corporate credit card processes and provide support to staff
Assist with procurement and contract administration activities

What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in accounts payable, finance administration or a similar finance support role




Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience working with finance or ERP systems
Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
A proactive, customer-focused approach and the ability to work effectively within a team
Experience in procurement or government finance environments will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance
Provide proof of citizenship and complete pre-employment identity verification checks
Hold a current National Police Check with no disclosable outcomes, or the ability to obtain
