The Role

The Shift Manager – Robotics is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for the day‑to‑day operation, performance, and continuous improvement of automated robotic welding cells.

You will lead a team of operators to deliver secure, high‑quality, and efficient production outcomes, while working closely with Engineering and Maintenance to optimise robotics performance and maximise uptime.

Key responsibilities




Leading daily operations of robotic welding cells to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets
Ensuring WHS compliance and the safe operation of robotic equipment
Monitoring and improving production KPIs including throughput, quality, and utilisation
Collaborating with Engineering and Maintenance teams to optimise robotic programs, tooling, and uptime
Leading, training, and developing team members across the shift
Driving lean initiatives, process improvements, and best‑practice methodologies

Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a supervisory or shift leadership role within manufacturing
Hands‑on experience with industrial robotic welding systems (VALK or similar highly regarded)
Background in metal fabrication and welding processes
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
Confident people leader with strong communication skills
High‑energy, practical, and results‑driven mindset
