We're partnering with a specialist business lending team, in a well-known bank, who are looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager to help shape credit strategy, portfolio performance and risk frameworks across a growing commercial lending business.

This is a highly visible role sitting at the intersection of credit, risk and front-line banking. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the business can continue to grow while maintaining robust underwriting standards and disciplined risk management.

Your role

You'll take ownership of portfolio oversight and credit governance, helping establish the frameworks, policies and controls that support long-term sustainable growth.
Monitoring portfolio performance and emerging risk trends
Managing covenant compliance, annual reviews and watchlist activities
Supporting complex and structured commercial lending transactions
Developing and refining credit policies, standards and decision frameworks
Designing practical delegation and approval structures
Building meaningful portfolio reporting and early warning indicators
Partnering with frontline,



credit and risk teams to improve lending outcomes
Using portfolio insights to influence future credit strategy and origination decisions

About You
Extensive experience in commercial banking portfolio management, credit risk or credit policy
Prior product management experience is highly desirable
Deep understanding of SME and cashflow-based lending
Experience managing portfolio quality, covenant monitoring and remediation activity
Exposure to credit policy development, governance or risk frameworks
Robust stakeholder management skills across business, risk and credit functions
The ability to balance commercial outcomes with sound credit judgement
