Overview

Legal Counsel (Energy) | 6-month contract. We’re seeking a senior lawyer with proven experience in energy retail to cover parental leave for a leading energy provider.

In this role you will advise on regulatory and contractual matters for a major energy retail business, ensuring compliance and supporting commercial objectives in a quick‑moving, customer‑focused workplace.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to provide clear, commercially‑driven advice, manage external advisers where required, and help navigate the regulatory landscape while balancing operational priorities.

Responsibilities
Advise on regulatory and contractual matters for a major energy retail business.
Ensure compliance and support commercial objectives in a fast-moving, customer-focused environment.
Work with senior stakeholders to provide clear, commercially-driven advice.
Manage external advisers where required.




Navigate the regulatory landscape while balancing operational priorities.

Qualifications
Strong background in energy retail law, with solid regulatory and contractual experience.
Ability to advise senior leaders and work independently in a busy in-house workplace.
Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
Comfortable juggling competing priorities in a dynamic sector.
