Overview
Data Engineer Analyst (Fabric, Power BI) – Perth
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and store data from multiple sources.
Create and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and data visualizations.
Translate business requirements into meaningful analytics and reporting solutions.
Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver reliable data and reporting solutions.
Implement data processing solutions across batch and near-real-time use cases.
Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across data platforms and reporting solutions.
Support cloud-based data platforms, data lakes, lakehouses, and data warehouses.
Apply data security, privacy, Row-Level Security (RLS), and access control requirements across data and reporting solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline, data quality, and Power BI performance issues.
Contribute to automation, monitoring, governance, and continuous improvement of data engineering and BI practices.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or data-focused engineering roles.
Solid experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Factory, Data Warehouse, and analytics workloads.
Hands‑on expertise in Power BI development, including dashboards, reports, data modelling, DAX, and semantic models.
Solid SQL skills and experience with relational and analytical data platforms.
Proficiency in ETL/ELT development and data pipeline orchestration.
Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and large-scale datasets.
Experience with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Synapse, or equivalent.
Familiarity with dimensional modelling, Star Schema, and performance optimization techniques.
Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and Power BI governance best practices.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices for data and analytics solutions.
Solid analytical, problem‑solving, stakeholder management, and troubleshooting skills.

This role is based in Perth, Western Australia. Candidates currently based in Perth or willing to relocate to Perth are encouraged to apply. Australian Citizens are highly preferred; Australian Permanent Residents (PR holders) will also be considered.
