The Market Place IGA Ballajura is a family-owned supermarket, proudly serving our community for over 30 years. We’re looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Checkout Operator to join our team.

NO WEEKEND WORK REQUIRED!

WHILE THIS ROLE IS FOR A PERMANENT POSITION, WE ALSO HAVE OTHER CHECKOUT ROLES AVAILABLE CASUALLY OVER THE WEEKEND AND IN THE EVENINGS.

If you would prefer this, please include a small cover letter detailing your availability and preference for hours. If you do not include a cover letter, we will not be able to consider your application for a casual position.

The role:
Full-time (38 hours, Mon-Fri) OR part time (minimum 30 hours across 4 days, with a 3-day weekend)
Early starts – you must be available from 7am
Primarily customer service at checkout, with general store duties when required

You must be 18+ to apply (required by law for tobacco sales)
Friendly, reliable, and a valuable communicator
Team player with a solid work ethic
Self-motivated and punctual
Committed to keeping high store standards

Pay is in line with the General Retail Industry Award, with superannuation and leave entitlements provided in addition, as per the National Employment Standards.
