About The Opportunity
Tomago, NSW | Full-Time Permanent Position
Are you a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter who takes pride in quality workmanship, precision assembly, and component rebuilds?
We're seeking an experienced Fitter to join our Component Rebuild Centre (CRC) team in Tomago.
Working in a contemporary workshop environment, you'll play a key role in the refurbishment, overhaul, and assembly of critical mechanical components, ensuring equipment is rebuilt to the highest quality and OEM standards.
What you'll do
Reporting to the Leading Hand/Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
Precision fitting, assembly and installation of mechanical components and sub-assembliesDismantling, inspecting and refurbishing equipment and componentsDiagnosing wear, defects and mechanical failuresReplacing bearings, seals, bushes, shafts, housings and couplingsMeasuring, checking and verifying tolerances using precision instrumentsReading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specificationsConducting alignment, calibration and functional testing activitiesCompleting quality inspections and workshop documentationContributing to a safe, productive and high-performing workshop environmentSupporting continuous improvement initiatives and team success
What you'll bring
To be successful, you will have:
Mechanical Trade Qualification (Fitter, Engineering Tradesperson or equivalent)Experience in mechanical fitting, assembly, overhaul and refurbishmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers,
verniers and gaugesStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipA proactive approach to safetyAbility to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
Experience in a component rebuild or workshop-based environmentExposure to heavy equipment or industrial machineryForklift, Dogging or other High Risk Work LicencesOverhead crane experience
