Role Description The Roofing Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Lara, VIC.
The role involves reviewing plans, drawings, and site information to prepare accurate material quantities, labor estimates, and cost breakdowns for roofing projects.
Day-to-day tasks include visiting job sites as needed, measuring roofs, assessing conditions, and gathering information to support detailed quotations.
The Roofing Estimator will liaise with clients, builders, and suppliers to clarify project requirements, update estimates, and respond to pricing queries.
The role also includes maintaining records of estimates, tracking job costs, and working with the operations team to support scheduling and project delivery.
Qualifications




Experience in roofing, construction estimating, or a closely related trade, with the ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications.Proficiency in using measurement tools, basic CAD or take-off software, and standard office applications (e.g., spreadsheets, email, project tracking tools).
Strong numerical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills to produce accurate quantities, costs, and quotations.Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, colleagues, and suppliers, including transparent written quotation and report preparation.Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple estimates, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project priorities.Understanding of roofing materials, installation methods, safety requirements, and industry standards; prior experience in the roofing sector is highly desirable.Valid driver's license and willingness to attend on-site visits in Lara and surrounding areas.Relevant qualification in construction, estimating, or a trade background is beneficial but not mandatory where equivalent experience is demonstrated.
