Job Description
Our Above Water Systems team provides engineering & maintenance services to Royal Australian Navy vessels and commercial ships. We're proud to bolster Australia's sovereign capability through operational support to our defence partners. With ongoing training programs and a team of over 500, our people have room to grow and develop an impactful career with us., Located in Sydney at Woolloomooloo's Garden Island, on Gadigal land your role will be to commence and complete a 2-year registered traineeship in Certificate III in Construction Crane Operations. You will have the chance to learn and apply skills in the largest Dry Dock in the Southern Hemisphere!
You will gain training and experience in Maritime ship repairs, including:
* General lift of construction material for ship maintenance
* Rigging and removal of major ship components in the Dry Dock and various wharfs
* Working safely at Heights in Boom Lifts and Man Boxes
* Moving material using forklifts, vehicles and trailers

About the Candidate
* Genuine interest in gaining a qualification
* Sound literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills
* Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
* Comfortable working in a noisy, dusty setting, at Heights, and in Confined Spaces
* Hold a General Construction Induction card (White Card)
Work Environment
A Defence security clearance NV1 is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
