1. Objective:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our E&I; team at Karratha for Perdaman's Ammonia & Urea project.
Perdaman, a leading player in the fertiliser industry with its corporate office in Western Australia, is looking for a candidate to fulfill the responsibilities as identified in this position description.
2. Responsibilities:
2.1.
Asset Management:
• Oversee and maintain assets in responsible area to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct maintenance, and troubleshooting in compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
• Collaborate with plant operators, technicians, and engineers.
• Manage life cycle planning and ensure availability of critical spares on-site.
2.2.
Main Area of responsibility:
• All Automation assets.
2.3.
Installation & Commissioning:
• Support the installation, commissioning, and startup of new plant, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
• Provide technical support during commissioning, ensuring thorough testing and seamless integration.
2.4.
Operational Responsibilities:
• Maintain and troubleshoot Control Systems, networks and related hardware/software.
• Investigate failures, analyse issues, and report concerns to supervisors for corrective actions.
• Support incident RCAs.
• Support turn-around planning and coordination.
• Work order prioritisation.
• Review and update asset criticality ranking.
• Adopt reliability centred maintenance for budget optimization and plant availability.
• Maintain accurate logs, history, and ERP records.
• Adhere to company procedures for installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure asset reliability and safety.
• Achieve KPIs and contribute to company goals.
• Managing rosters and ensuring optimal availability of skills to support operations.
• Ensuring own and teams' compliance to health safety and environment requirements.
2.5.
Process Optimization & Troubleshooting:
• Analyse data from assets in responsible area and work towards proactively improving efficiency, reliability, and safety.
• Provide troubleshooting expertise during unplanned equipment downtime, ensuring rapid recovery.




• Collaborate with operations teams for enhanced process efficiency and reduced downtime.
2.6.
Safety & Compliance:
• Work in accordance with the permit-to-work system.
• Conduct/attend toolbox talks.
• Maintain compliance with local regulations, company guidelines, and HSE policies.
• Ensure that the responsible assets meet safety and industry standards.
• Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
2.7.
Documentation & General Support:
• Maintain accurate records for assets in responsible area including history/data-entry in ERP system.
• Generate performance reports and document incidents affecting operations.
• Develop/assist in developing SOPs, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Assist with the annual budget for capital and operating spares.
• Support other tasks within skill and ability as directed.
3. Required Qualifications & Experience:
3.1.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in related field and can qualify for professional engineer to be a member of Engineers Australia.
3.2.
Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years in chemical, petrochemical, or fertiliser plant.
• Proven expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting of assets in responsible areas.
3.3.
Essential Criteria
• Previous experience with process Automation Systems.
• Previous experience with Yokogawa Centum VP, Prosafe RS, and Siemens S7 series of PLCs will be preferred.
• Full working rights in Australia or eligible to get working rights in Australia and fulfill Australian visa requirements if applying from outside Australia.
• Engineering qualification recognised by Engineers Australia and eligible to pass the skill assessment.
• Conversant with English language
• Physically capable of traversing the plant and accessing process plant and equipment at different elevations.
3.4.
Skills & Competencies:
• Hands on experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of advance control systems.




• Should be able to troubleshoot and maintain various control systems like Yokogawa Centum VP , Prosafe RS, Siemens S7 series of PLC, PCS7, GE MarkVIe etc.
• The candidate should be willing to learn new skills related to various control systems and related technologies.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, HART, Modbus, OPC, and Profibus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration across functions.
• Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
• The candidate should be willing to learn current skills related to area of responsibility.

• Safety Compliance - Zero LTI, PPE Compliance & Compliance to Permit to work requirements.
• Incident Reporting - timely reporting of incidents and near misses.
• Equipment availability.
• Following Maintenance SOPs & Strategies.
• Complying to PM schedules - ensuring main and standby equipment are available on demand.
• Communication - Maintaining Communication as per stakeholder's requirement & Maintaining logs.
• Training & Compliance - Compliance to all mandatory trainings and compliance to local rules and regulations.
• Ensuring spare parts.
6. Working Conditions:
• Full-time position based in Karratha, Western Australia
• Industrial plant environment with operational exposure.
• Should be able to work shifts and reasonable additional hours, including weekends and holidays to support operations and turn-arounds.
• Occasional travel required for training and project support.
